Mr. Middlebrook wrote "The Battle Of Hamburg", which was the series of raids which were carried out by the R.A.F. and U.S.A.A.F. on that City in July/ August 1943. lt was during the battle of Hamburg that 'Window' was used by the R.A.F. on operations for the first time.
