Description
This attractive 1919 Victory FDC was serviced by a pioneer of US FDC collection, Henry Hammelman, and is addressed in his distinctive handwriting. The cover has a March 3, 1919 Washington, DC hand cancel. The year dates on Washington, DC hand cancels for this particular FDC are notoriously bad. Please see the detail photo below. The year date in this postmark is actually there, no imagination required. A clean and attractive cover. Please check the photos below for details. Please look at shipping information below. Thanks! Barry Newton. American Philatelic Society Member 73980, American First Day Cover Society Honorary Life Member 17. All items can be returned within 7 days. Buy with confidence. SHIPPING INFORMATION FOR HIGH VALUE SHIPMENTS:   Lots purchased within 3 days can be combined for shipment. For high value shipments, registered mail is recommended. Rates for registered mail are $10.80 to $100, $12.10 to $500, $13.20 to $1000, $14.50 to $2000, $15.70 to $3000, $16.90 to $4000. Mail can be sent by USPS insured mail (at the buyers risk) for $1.70 up to $50; $2.15 up to $100; $2.60 up to $200; $4.60 up to $300; $.95 per $100 or fraction, on shipments valued above $300. For international sales, registered mail or UPS expedited delivery can be used. Neither method of shipment will cover the insurance costs completely, but some coverage is offered if you buy using paypal. Please check the paypal website for details on coverage to your country. UPS expedited packages, even when letter sized packages, cost about $50.00 (and sending stamps by this method could result in customs problems, according to the best information I can get from UPS). Of course, I will also send any lots won by first class mail without any additional charge to US buyers and anywhere in the world for a flat rate of $3.00, as long as the buyer assumes all risk for damage or loss in the mails. I have sent some wonderful material out by first class mail without problems. The choice is yours. Thanks!     Powered by eBay Turbo ListerThe free listing tool.
